Higher excise duty on diesel for heating
The amendments on The Law on Excise Duties and Tax Warehouses were promulgated on November 27, 2015 and will come into force from January 01, 2016.
The new year brings significantly higher excise duty on diesel for heating. Rather than 50 lv for 1000 l, fuel for heating will be taxed 646 lv.
The reasons are that there are frauds and consumers use the fuel not only for heating but also for transport because of the lower price.
The removal of the reduced rate on diesel for heating leads to dropping out of its marking in red colour.
